Obituary of Virginia Turner

Virginia Eloise Turner went to be with her Lord on April 7, 2015 at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Grafton. She was born in Masontown, WV on April 14, 1920, a daughter of the late Evelyn Bessie Miller and Lonnie G. Shaffer. She is survived by her two brothers, John G. Shaffer of Arkansas and Daniel L. Shaffer of Masontown, WV; sister, Gertrude Fisher of Markleysburg, PA; daughter, Dorothy Cozad of Kingwood, WV; four sons, John R. Stegmann of Tillery, NC and Francis Turner and wife Donna of Moundsville, WV, Darwin Turner and wife Monica of Newburg, WV and David Turner of Moundsville, WV; granddaughter, Kimberly Pyles of Newburg, WV; grandson, Kenneth L. Cozad and wife Tara of Kingwood, WV; 24 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Virginia is preceded in death by her loving husband, Herbert D. Turner; three brothers, Robert D. Shaffer, Arthur (Bud) Shaffer and Clarence Ray Shaffer; step-mother, Inez Shaffer; several step- brothers and step-sisters; step-son, Nolan Turner and daughter, Cathy Stegmann. During her long life she had a floral shop in Masontown, WV and a restaurant in Kingwood, WV. She loved cooking, painting pictures and she was a care taker for the elderly. A memorial service will be held at the Mill Chapel United Brethren in Christ on the Kingwood Pike at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2015 with Pastor Marshall Woods officiating.
