Obituary of Charles Hebb

Charles "Chuck" Guy Hebb Jr., 69, of Reedsville, went to be with our Father in Heaven on Thursday, January 1, 2015, at his home with his family by his side. He was born February 16, 1945 in Irwin, WV to the late Charles "Ted" Hebb Sr. and Viola Freeland Hebb. He was a retired coal miner. Charles served his country in the US Army from 1964 to 1972 with two tours in Vietnam. He was a life member of the VFW Post# 826, Disabled American Veterans, Arthurdale Community Presbyterian Church, Morgantown Moose Lodge and a USBC Board Member. Charles coached little league baseball and youth league bowling. He enjoyed golfing and bowling but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Charles is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kathryn "Kathy" Thompson Hebb; children, Charles "Ted" Hebb III and fiancé Crystal Golden of Morgantown, Nona Montgomery and husband Monte of Kingwood and Kathryn "Kathy Jo" Fitzgerald of Reedsville; grandchildren, Nathaniel Hebb and Shantal Wilhelm, Sierra Hebb, Taner Hebb, Tavis Dudley, Troy McNeill, Amelia Fitzgerald, Katie Fitzgerald , Mandy Fitzgerald and Allie and Kinsey Fitzgerald; great grandson, Cooper Gage Hebb and a great granddaughter, Penelope Ann Hebb, who will join us in May; the mother of his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Natalie Shaffer; mother-in-law, Esther Thompson of Wheeling; four brothers, Marvin Hebb and wife Penny, Brad Hebb, Howard Hebb and wife Colleen all of Ohio and Ira Hebb and wife Darlene of Morgantown, six sisters, Zelda Tompkins, Linda Sheets, both of Ohio, Kay Hull and husband Donnie, Hattie Hull and husband Ronnie, Mary Bennett all of Terra Alta and Ruth Sharpe and husband Jack of TN; five brothers-in-law, Tom Thompson and wife Judy, Chester "Bub" Thompson and wife Diane, Rocky Thompson and wife Melanie, Hank Thompson and companion Pam Briggs and David Thompson all of Wheeling; one sister-in-law, Jeannie Kurtz of Ohio; his bowling family; his best friend of more than 30 years, Alan "Buck" Taylor and wife Mary Ann of Masontown; many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Chester Thompson; two sisters, Doris Titchenell and Shirley Hebb; four brothers-in-law, Amos Titchenell, Jimmy Bennett, Joe Sheets and Joe Kurtz; a nephew, David "Davie Lee" Slack and a great niece, Olivia Bennett. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 3-8 p.m. and Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. service time with Dr. David Allen officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Preston County VFW Honor Guard, WVANG Honor Guard, and the Preston County Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 977. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Kingwood.
