Obituary of Robert Lipscomb

Robert W. "Bob" Lipscomb, 68, of Masontown, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Vindex, MD on December 12, 1944, a son of the late Ruby (Evans) and H. Lee Lipscomb. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He worked as a coal miner for more than 30 years. He served in the US Marines and was honorably discharged. He is survived by his wife, Vicki (Blaney) Lipscomb; a daughter, Penny Lipscomb of Morgantown; a son, Vance Lipscomb and wife Gail of Morgantown; five grandchildren, Emily Lipscomb, Alexis Almodovar, Anthony Almodovar, Abby Voorhees and Ella Voorhees; four sisters, Margaret "Sis" Ostrow of Rockville, MD, Betty Dalton and husband Ken of Canton, OH, Barbara Mayhew and companion Roy Drone of Alexandria, VA and Charlotte Henning of Reedsville; one brother, Charles Lipscomb and wife Patsy of Benninton, VT and other who were like brothers to him; Patrick Cale, Ivan Teets, Larry Teets and Everett Teets. He was preceded in death by Prentice and "Toots" Teets (who included him as a son in their family); three brothers, Hugh "Peck" Lipscomb, Roy "June" Lipscomb and James "Buck" Lipscomb and Butch and Marvin Teets whom he considered his brothers. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 3 until the 5 p.m. Celebration of Life with Rev. Kenneth Dalton and Rev. Tim Heaney officiating.
