Obituary of Richard Moran

Richard Patrick (Dickie) Moran, 57, of Masontown, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Dickie was born August 1, 1955 at Oakland, MD, a son of the late Terra and Mildred (Burns) Moran. He grew up in Loudoun County, VA and graduated from Loudoun Valley High School. He was a heavy equipment operator. He loved people and never knew a stranger. He loved to cook, especially grilling, even more so he enjoyed watching people eat what he prepared. Dickie is survived by his wife, Sharon (Denkenberger) Moran of Masontown; three daughters, Terra Carlock and husband Jason, Lesa Caldwell and husband Marquese and Natasha Leibowitz and husband Stephen; all of Tulsa, OK; Sharon's son, Steve Shillingburg and wife Kitty of Kingwood, WV. Dickie is also survived by nine grandchildren, Tyler, Chase, and Makai Carlock; Marquese, Takyra, and Makenzie Caldwell; Abigail, Eugene, and Emily Shillingburg, four siblings; Bob and wife Emma of Jacksonville, FL, Patty of Kingwood, WV, Ron and wife Dot of Winchester, VA and Tom and wife Ann of Lincoln, VA, many nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and his mother-in-law. In following Dickie's wishes, he will be cremated. There will be a private family gathering at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center at WVU.
