Obituary of Orval Lemoyne Fisher

Orval L. Fisher, Jr. "Lee", 60, of Masontown, WV, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at home, with his loving wife by his side. Orval was born in Wheeling, WV on December 13, 1956, a son of the late Orval L. Fisher, Sr. "Red" and Patricia L. (Birch) Fisher of Morgantown. He was a 1975 graduate of University High School. He retired from truck driving after 30 years. He liked his guns, loved to travel and cook, especially his well loved lasagna. He enjoyed taking the family's small petting zoo to Valley Elementary for their carnival day. He loved teaching the children about the animals. In addition to his mother, Orval is survived by his wife, Laura E. (Smith) Fisher, whom he married on November 7, 1995; two sons, Colin R. Fisher of Masontown and Shawn Szonyi of Morgantown; two step daughters and spouses, Jamie Schnopp and Franklin of Howesville and JoAnn Montague and Doug of Kingwood; a sister and spouse, Christy Cottrell and Randy of Morgantown, grandchildren, Autumn, Nate,Taylor and Douglas; a nephew, Nicholas Fisher; a niece, Grace Cottrell and his beloved dogs, Buster and Chance. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nettie Ann Fisher. Friends will be received at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Thursday, July 13, 2017, from 2-4 & 6-8pm. To honor his wishes, he will then be cremated and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11am at the Brighter Day Church in Tunnelton with the Pastors Cheryl and Roger Harris officiating.
