Obituary of Kenneth Ray Conner

Kenneth Ray Conner, 88, of Bretz, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Pine Ridge Nursing Home in Kingwood. Kenneth was born in Valley Point, on January 26, 1928, a son of the late Arnold Floyd Conner and Pearl (Forman) Conner. Kenneth was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He worked for Consol at the Osage mine for many years and served his country in the US Army during WWII. He is survived by his children; Brenda Tasker and husband Jesse of Hedgesville, Michael Conner of Bretz, and LaJoyce Johnson and husband Sam of Lorain, OH; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Joan M. "Gabby" Conner; five sisters, Vinda Belle, Thelma, Helen, Violet and Leah and two brothers, Everett and Emory. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Wednesday January, 18, 2017 from 10 am until the 1 p.m. service time with Pastor A.C. Mann officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Kingwood. Military rites will be conducted by the Preston County VFW Honor Guard, WVANG Honor Guard, and the Preston County Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 977.
