Obituary of Clyde Ernest Fazenbaker
Clyde "Jody" Fazenbaker, of Reedsville, passed away October 17, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Arthurdale, on April 27, 1930, a son of the late Emerson and Rosalea (Turner) Fazenbaker.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War. He was recipient of the Army Occupation Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was also a former member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Preston County and retired from West Virginia University where he worked at the WVU Farm in Reedsville. He was also employed by Interstate Farms.
Clyde enjoyed weed-eating and mowing for himself and his customers. He also enjoyed gardening, canning and farming. He dearly loved his three dogs; Missy, Buster and Billie and his cat, Tom.
He is survived by three daughters, Shawn Sines and husband David, LaRae Biggins and husband Steve and Heather Sphar and husband Chris all of Arthurdale; eight grandchildren; Dakota and wife Tavien, Cameron, Courtney, Matthew, Brandon, Chris, Jr. Michael, and Sarah and one great-grandchild, Lane Easton Sines.
Clyde was preceded in death by his wife Josephine Marie Fazenbaker; two brothers, Otha H. Fazenbaker and Dale McCellan Fazenbaker and three sisters, Jessie Smith, Hattie Hall and Ruth Fazenbaker.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the Bethlehem United Methodist Church on the Dogtown Road with Rev. David Spence officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Preston County VFW Honor Guard, WVANG Honor Guard, and the Preston County Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 977. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
