Phyllis Loverine “Sis” Menear, 83, of Rowlesburg, WV, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood, WV.

She was born in Freeport, WV on June 21, 1943, a daughter of the late John Nelson Blair and Wilda Madge (Baker) Murphy.

Sis was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother and sister. She lived her life with a servant’s heart and took great pride in taking care of her home and raising her family. She enjoyed cooking and baking, caring for and feeding anyone in need and having a love for animals, especially cats and birds. Sis also enjoyed playing games and building puzzles. Above all her greatest pride and joy was her family.

Phyllis is survived by her three daughters, Tammy Davis of Kingwood, Rita Wolfe and husband, Tom of Valley Point and Samantha Taylor and companion, Paul Burger of Kingwood; grandchildren, Fabian Green, Nikki Green, Joshua Taylor and wife, Katy, Avery Menear and companion, Megan, Hayley Taylor, Glen Sheldon and Emma Burger; great grandchildren, Korbin Green, Draven Shaffer, Phoenix Green, and Aurora Silveira; great great grandson, Jak Green; sister, Janice Ruth Menear of Kingwood; many nieces, nephews and friends and her special extended family, Aaron and Theresa Bolyard and Ida Mae Fike.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jamie Bruce Calhoun; her ex-husband and friend, Robert “Bruce” Menear; grandson, Devin Michael “Tuna” Green; infant grandchild, Frankie Jo Bruno; three sisters, Rita “Nick” Moats, Carolyn Kelly and Thelma DeWitt and one brother, Larry Murphy.

A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Kingwood on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 2 pm with Rev. Dr. David Spence officiating.
