Chester Allen Wilkins Jr., 84, of Masontown, WV, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Mon Health Medical Center, Morgantown, WV, surrounded by his family.

He was born on March 29, 1942, in Arthurdale, WV, a son of the late Chester A. Wilkins Sr. and Goldie B. (Fulk) Wilkins.

Chester was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who always enjoyed spending time with his family. He drove truck with AmeriGas for 20 years. Chester had a love for old cars, previously being a member of the Antique Auto Club and enjoyed watching Westerns, especially Gun Smoke.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Barbara (Fortney) Wilkins; four sons, David Wilkins and wife, Cassandra of New Salisbury, IN, Curtis Wilkins and wife, Finondra of Jupiter, FL, Brian Wilkins and wife, Terri of Bretz, WV, and Aaron Wilkins and girlfriend, Shyla of Masontown, WV; two daughters, Lisa Wilkins of Masontown, WV, and Kerry Loar and husband, Frank of Wake Forest, NC; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, John Wilkins and wife, Brenda of Myrtle Beach, SC; two sisters, Reggie Wolfe of Newburg, WV, and Marlene Watkins of Myrtle Beach, SC, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Chester is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Morgan Desirae and a brother, Roger Wilkins.

Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown, WV on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 4-8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 11:00 am with Pastor Casper Dalton officiating. Interment will follow in Arthurdale Cemetery.
