Jessie Diane (Heinz) Ihrman, 90, of Arthurdale, WV, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood, WV, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Hervey City, Illinois, in July 1935, the eldest daughter of the late Delmar and Jessie Heinz.

Diane graduated from Milwaukee Downer College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics Education. She taught Home Economics in Charleston, Indiana, and Madison, Wisconsin, and later devoted her life to keeping a home while partnering with her husband of almost 60 years in Christian ministry and in their artwork studio. She led women's Bible studies, organized "Chessie Days" (a railroad festival in Terra Alta, West Virginia), church bazaars and mission projects, as well as serving her community as an EMT and ambulance driver.

She was a lover of nature, gardening, knitting, sewing and traveling. She studied art, history, the weather/clouds, maps, and newspapers throughout her life. Diane was a walking encyclopedia of family history and could carry on a conversation with anyone, anytime.

Diane was married to Reverend Francis Ihrman, who pre-deceased her in 2015. Together they raised two daughters; Jessie Rebecca Schmidle (the late Harold Thomas Schmidle), and Glenna Elizabeth PrinceWalter. She was blessed to enjoy five grandchildren; Tom Schmidle (Nancy), Carrie Uphold (Josh), Cody Schmidle (Kelsey), Meg DeSouza (Logan), and Cat Hearing (Nick); 12 great grandchildren, Christina and Kaylee, Sophie, JJ and Tucker, Kane and Colt, June, Sam, Cora Mae, and Rex, plus, many loved nieces and nephews, cherished neighbors, and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Diane was preceded in death by her sister Barbara, and brother-in-law, Mike.

The Field Funeral Home of Masontown, WV, is honored to be assisting the family at this time. A celebration of life service will be held at the Community Presbyterian Church of Arthurdale, 50 Eby School Road, Reedsville, WV 26547, on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 2:00pm with Reverend Steve Lightner officiating. A reception will follow.
