Gerald Keith "Jerry" Helmick, 62, of Masontown, WV, passed away peacefully, Thursday, February 5, 2026, at home surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born in Morgantown, WV on May 4, 1963, a son of the late Obed Gerold and Sheryl Belinda (Wyer) Helmick Haines.

Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed listening to rock music, riding dirtbikes, and being with family, especially his grandchildren. Jerry was a hard worker, whether it was at work in the coal mine, which he loved doing, or out in the garage fixing things. He would do anything to take care of his family. He was always there for everyone.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Kimberly (Johnson) Helmick; two daughters, Jennifer Johnson of Cleveland, OH and Belinda Greathouse and husband, Skip of Masontown; one son, Brian Helmick of Kingwood; nine grandchildren, Olivia, Alizabeth, Caitlin, Audrie, Nick, Sierra, Vanessa, Damien and Brayden; four great grandchildren, Amerey, Zyla, Liam and Hazel and one on the way, Aleena; two sisters, Heather Helmick-Sines and Tonya Helmick and two brothers, Jeff Helmick and Greg and Traci Helmick.

To honor Jerry's wishes, professional and compassionate cremation services will be provided by Field Funeral Home in Masontown, WV. There will be a private family celebration of his life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Field Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
