Michael Hector Taylor, 63, of Masontown, WV, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital with family by his side.

He was born in Beaver, PA on September 15, 1962, a son of the late Hector D. and Sarah (Smith) Taylor.

Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He previously enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most recently, he loved to cook and bake. He also enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach and shooting pool. Mike held several jobs titles through his life, he worked as a cook, a car detailer, bartender, and most recently he worked at North American Drillers. He was always one to joke around, he could crack a joke about anything. Mike will be missed by all those he touched in life.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Lisa Fortney; a son, Michael Taylor; two daughters, Renee (Taylor) Thompson and husband James and Kayla Fortney and fiancé, Tyler Hyer; grandchildren, Austin, Ryder, Lainey, James Jr. and Jason; nieces and nephews, Holly, April, Candy, Sarah, Cyndy, BJ, Nicole, and Larry; uncle, Max Taylor, and many others.

In addition to his parents, Michael is preceded in death by a brother, Rodney Taylor; three sisters, Patricia Bolyard, Crystal Kincade and Amy McGinnis and nieces and nephews, Cindy, KC, Michael, Charlotte and Georgianna.

Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from noon until the 2 pm time of service with Pastor Walter Sapp. Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Masontown.
