Kandi Dawn (Gibson) Helmick, 43 was received by our Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at her residence in Preston County, WV.

She was born on August 16th, 1982, in Morgantown, WV, to Hope L. Taylor (Robey) and Phillip A. Gibson.

She is survived by her husband, Ryan Helmick, her two daughters, Kayleigh and Ashleigh Sturgeon, her two stepdaughters, Caitlin and Nickell Helmick, her sister, Brandi Lucas, her nephew, Austin Morris, her mother and stepfather, Hope and Kenny Taylor.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Lois M. Robey, and her great grandparents, James W. Brummage and Ruby M. Brummage of Daybrook.

Kandi was an accomplished CRNA and cherished by the residents at (formally) Windy Hill Village. She was a driven, hardworking, and dedicated to caring for elderly patients.

She was deeply loved by her friends and family. She was dedicated to sharing her story of conquering addiction and offering hope and guidance to those facing similar struggles. It was such a pleasure and comfort to be in her presence. She lived her life for our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Even in her last days, she continued to give all the glory to God and her undying faith will live on forever.

There will be no funeral services held.

All are welcome to attend Kandi’s celebration of life at The Terrace (at Tibbs Run) West Virginia Botanic Gardens. The date and time will be announced at a later date. Further updates on the event venue and date can be expected in the future, possibly through event announcements via email, social media, press releases, or dedicated event websites.
