Michael Ray "Mike" Johnson, 60, of Masontown, WV, passed from this life unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.

He was born in Morgantown, WV on July 4, 1965, a son of the late Maurice "Reace" Johnson and Anna Melvernia (Shaffer) Johnson-May.

Mike was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and friend. He was a 1983 graduate of West Preston High School. He retired after 37 years as a master floor covering installer. Mike was a jack of all trades. He had a gift for fixing, building, and creating just about anything he put his hands on. Whether it was repairing an engine, tackling a home project, or lending a hand to a friend in need, there was little he couldn't do — and he always did it with a smile and a sense of pride. When he wasn't working with his hands, he could be found chasing adventures on his Harley, in a motor home or a kayak. Mike shared countless miles and memories with his wife and family exploring new places and meeting new friends along the way. He also enjoyed painting, axe throwing and loved his dogs. Above all, Mike was the best husband and father, who was so proud of his children.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Jennifer Ray (Hicks) Johnson of Masontown; two sons, Michael Ray Johnson II of Masontown and Casey Johnson and fiancée, Heidi Joanna Tolson of New York City; two daughters, Shelby Lane Johnson of Reedsville and Whitney LeeAnna Johnson Graham and husband Gage of Lynchburg, VA; one brother, Jerry "Oogie" Johnson and wife Dana of Morgantown; one sister, Kathy Klein and husband Ben of Solon, OH; sisters-in-law, Patty Ray Johnson, Susan Hicks Hiser and Kara Cvechko; one brother-in-law, Thomas Bennett; nieces and nephews, Ricky Ray Johnson, Nicole Johnson, Christopher Shaffer, Jody Johnson, Jessica Johnson and Abi Thomas, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins in this area and in Cleveland, OH.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Robert Johnson and Rick Johnson.

Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 5 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 1 pm on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, with Rev. Marvin Shaffer officiating. Interment will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.
