Ronald Eugene "Pap" Keener, 83, of Masontown, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at his home.
He was born August 27, 1942, in Morgantown, a son of the late Wilbert Otis Keener and Marion Lillian (Shisler) Keener.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother and attended the Masontown Church of the Nazarene. He was a produce manager for Thorofare, IGA, and Shop-N-Save until his retirement. He enjoyed family get togethers, gardening, flowers and lawn work, but above all he loved his family. He also enjoyed supporting his grandchildren at athletic events. He often went to live music events at the Sagebrush Round Up and the Country Road Jamboree.
Ronald is survived by a daughter, Sherrie Keener and companion Greg Rice of Morgantown; two sons, Ronald Keener II and wife Kate of Core and Mark Keener and wife Stacey of McDonald, PA; seven grandchildren; Dustin Keener and wife Rachel, Breanna Rice, Zackary Keener, Alicia Willard and husband Ben, Trenton Keener, Ethan Keener, and Owen Keener; four great grandchildren Kinsley, Lainey, Rhett and Reese; two sisters, Karen Guminey and husband Robert and Shirley Corwin and husband Ray; special niece, Sally Harvey-Deep and husband Mark and their daughter Sophia and several other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Juanita "Nanny" Lucille Keener in 2014; three sisters, Joann Rockis, Roberta Corwin and Norma Rohozen; three brothers, Paul Keener, Darrell Keener and James Keener.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown, WV, on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm and on Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm Celebration of Life Service with Pastor Rose Saunders officiating. Professional and compassionate cremation services will follow, provided by the Field Funeral Home in honor of Ronald's wishes.
