Joey "Joe" Stuchell, 72, of Reedsville, WV, passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer on October 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Joe was born in Reedsville, WV on July 7, 1953, and spent his entire life in Reedsville, where he built a legacy rooted in hard work, quiet strength, and a deep love for his family and community.
He was known for his dependable nature, his steady presence, and his constant willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need. Joe lived his life with integrity and humility — never seeking recognition yet always making a difference in the lives of those around him.
A man of simple joys, Joe especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren at his beloved Big Bear camp. He enjoyed the outdoors, working with his hands, building things, and tinkering with his old car. These quiet moments brought him great happiness and meaning.
Joe retired from Jenmar Corporation, where he worked for 38 years in various positions. He was a dedicated employee who took pride in a job well done and was respected by all who worked alongside him.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Donna M. Shaffer-Stuchell; two brothers, Delbert and Helen Stuchell and Mike Stuchell of Reedsville and sister, Patricia Martin of Kingwood; three daughters, Lori Stuchell-Baker, Christina Stuchell, and Rebecca Fike, all of Reedsville and his nephew, whom he thought of as a son, Walter "Wally" Booker, and wife Charran, of Dayton, OH. Joe also leaves behind five beloved grandchildren, Connor Joe Baker, Kristen Elaine Baker, Shyann Fike, Maia Fike, and Marcus Fike, all of Reedsville—each of whom will remember him with deep love, gratitude, respect, and as their hero; two sisters-in-law, Sue Stuchell and Betty Stuchell and many nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Carney and Ada Stuchell; his three brothers, Charles Melvin (Buddy Boy), Thomas, and Roger Stuchell and one sister, Grace Booker.
Friends may call at Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 1 pm until the 3 pm time of service with Chaplain Dennis Lusin officiating. Friends and family are welcome to attend and celebrate Joe's life and legacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Joe's memory to a hospice organization who gave wonderful care and support in his final days.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the hospice staff, especially close family member Debbie Gamblin and care giver Luke Massey for their compassion and support during this difficult time.
Joe will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and the unconditional love he gave to those around him. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit and legacy will live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
