Ronnie Nelson Greathouse, 73, of Masontown, WV, passed away Monday, July 7, 2025, at Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown.

He was born on November 7, 1951, in Morgantown, WV, a son of the late Ronald Vester Greathouse and Sally Virginia (Wolfe) Greathouse.

Ronnie was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed the outdoors whether it was hunting in the fall, fishing in a river or lake, hunting for ginseng, and most recently discovered a passion for farming. He cherished the times doing what he loved, but most importantly he loved and cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren and dog, Candy. Ronnie valued hard work and worked as a coal miner for over 30 years to provide for his family.

Ronnie is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis Jean (Shaffer) Greathouse; daughter, Tammy Chipps and husband, Darrell of Masontown, WV; two sons, Skip Greathouse and wife, Belinda, and Jeff Greathouse both of Masontown, WV; 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his sister, Hazel Wolfe, two brothers, Carlos Greathouse and Daniel Greathouse.

Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown, WV, on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 10:00 am until the 1:00 pm time of service with Rev Ray Frankhouser officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Masontown.
