We’ve lost our beautiful sister, Paula. She was beautiful inside and out. There was nothing more cherished and loved in this world to our mother, Hilda Zinn, than her children.
When Mother left this world, whether intentional or otherwise, Paula was the glue that kept our family together. She kept track of facts, birthdays, appointments, and a zillion things we never even thought of but should have known. If we wanted to know about something, you guessed it, we would call Paula, and if she didn’t know it, it probably hadn’t happened yet.
She accepted the life God gave her with all the gusto her petite five foot (if that) little body could handle. She didn’t just live life, she was involved!
She worked hard her whole life and rarely complained. She loved going to church, shopping, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and loved all her friends.
Eleanor was like her second mother. She had a special place in her heart for her brother, Charles, and she was the only one who could remind Mother that it was Jesus, not Charles, who walked on water. Shirley and Paula helped each other. And Elizabeth and Paula were Mutt & Jeff, The Lone Ranger, & Tonto, Batman & Robin! She always tried to look after me her whole life, and as for Randy, well, Mother never would have let him get in the boat in first place. We were helicopter siblings when it came to him.
I really thought Paula would be around forever.
At first, we prayed for a miracle! Then, we prayed she wouldn’t suffer longer.
Well, she didn’t suffer long.
And we had our miracle all along! It was this amazing woman called mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend that we all loved and called Paula for all these 83 years.
Lord God, may she rest in peace in your arms for all eternity.
Love you forever, Paula!
Your sister, Janis (and siblings)
