Obituary of Gary James McCrobie
Gary James McCrobie, 78, of Bretz, WV, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at WVU Heart and Vascular Institute in Morgantown.
He was born in Morgantown, WV on June 17, 1946, a son of the late Delmar James and Norma J. (Huffman) McCrobie.
Gary was a loving husband, father and brother who cherished his family. He was a Valley High School graduate Class of 1964. Gary proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked at Sterling Faucet for 33 years. Gary was a passionate outdoorsman who enjoyed going to the family cabin at Capon Bridge and the family hunting property on Caddell Mountain. He owned and operated Gary's Guns where he highly enjoyed working on guns and specialized in making barrels used for shooting competitions. He loved to be outdoors, attend shooting matches and was a member of the NRA. Gary also enjoyed shooting pool and cooking, both of which he was fantastic at. In the past he enjoyed visiting the Preston County Animal Shelter and feeding the dogs.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Rita Ann (Robinson) McCrobie; daughter, Kari Ann (McCrobie) Blizzard of Masontown; two brothers, Terry McCrobie and his wife Pat and Richard McCrobie, all of Reedsville; one sister, Carolyn Stuchell of Reedsville and his two beagles, Ace and Duff.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by one sister, Arvelva Roberta "Bobbie" McCrobie; one half-brother, Gerald Huffman; one sister-in-law, Cindy McCrobie and his two bulldogs, Bull and Stubby
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 11 am until the 1 pm time of service with Pastor Casper Dalton officiating. A private graveside service will be held at the Masontown Cemetery.
