Mary Sue Cale Obituary

Mary Sue Cale, 60, of Independence, WV, passed away Monday, March 24, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family.



She was born in Sarasota, FL, on January 4, 1965, a daughter of the late Richard and Edith (Metheny) Trout.



Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She graduated from West Preston High School, Class of 1983. Mary had an undeniable zest for life. Whether cruising through the countryside or exploring new places with her husband Stuart she embraced the open road with the freedom and thrill that came with every Harley ride. Mary enjoyed bowling with the bowling league at Luigi's Sport Center, sharing good times, camaraderie and friendly competition. Mary also enjoyed crafting and taking photos. Above all, family was the center of her world. Her unwavering support, boundless love, and nurturing presence shaped them into the people they are today. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and an enduring example of living life with passion and purpose.



Mary is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Stuart G. Cale; three children, Jonathan Cale and wife Sabrina of Belington, WV, Kayla Bell and husband Harmon of Reedsville, WV and Rebecca Cale and fiancé Tyler Zapach of Uniontown, PA; three grandchildren, Jacob, Quentin and Declan, and six siblings, Joseph Trout and wife Julie Louisville, KY, Rose Musgrave and husband Jim of West Union, Tina Trout of Terra Alta, WV, Benjamin Trout of Morgantown, WV, Sean Trout of Pittsburgh, PA and Trina Field and husband Travis of Arthurdale, WV.



Friend may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 4 – 8 pm and on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 10 am until the 11 am time of service with Cam Furby Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in Masontown.
