Obituary of William Joseph Wiles

William Joseph "Chuck" Wiles, 55, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 13, 2025. He was born on September 11, 1969. Chuck was an avid outdoorsman and particularly loved to fish. He spent many years finishing drywall until he found his true pleasure job as a coal miner until his health made him unable to continue. Chuck loved talking about the mines to anyone who would listen. Most people who knew him well knew what his son, Kalen Dalton meant to him. Chuck has always been so proud of him. He is survived by his mother, Cheryl Wiles of Masontown and Ron Wiles of Kingwood; son, Kalen; siblings, Tom of Marion VA, John of Gladesville, Butch and wife, Jamie of Reedsville, Trish and husband, George Collingwood, who have been his caregivers in the last several months, and Ronnie and wife, Samantha of Masontown; many nieces and nephews who proudly called him Uncle Chuck. Chuck is preceded in death by a very special little girl who was named after him, Charlie Wiles in 2009. Even while he was sick, he had thoughts of being with her again. To honor Chuck's wishes, no public services will be held. The Field Funeral Home in Masontown, WV will be providing compassionate and professional cremation services.
