Obituary of David Hixenbaugh

David Franklin Hixenbaugh, 68, of Masontown, WV, passed away peacefully, Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Fairmont Healthcare and Rehabilitation with family by his side. He was born on February 9, 1956, in Baltimore, MD, a son of the late Franklin and Bessie (Henline) Hixenbaugh. David was a truck driver for many years and retired from S&W Truck. He was an avid WVU fan, especially football and basketball. David will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his life partner, Sandra Hixenbaugh; four children, Veronica Shrout of Kingwood, WV, Stacey Hixenbaugh of Etam, WV, Scott Dumire and wife Alissa of Albright, WV and Jennifer Roth and husband Josh of Lakeland, FL; five siblings, Peg Spaid and husband Bob of Eglon, Judy Clarkson and husband Gary of Rowlesburg, Jody Goff and husband Mark of Rowlesburg, Joey Hixenbaugh and James Layman both of Morgantown; his grandchildren, which were his pride and joy, Payton Swisher and husband Brady, Addison Shrout, Jamesanna Shrout, and Bishop Dumire; two great grandchildren, Hayven and Greer Swisher and several nieces and nephews. To honor David's wishes there will be no public services held, and cremation services will be provided by Field Funeral Home in Masontown, WV. Donations in David's memory can be made to the American Cancer Society, Amedisys Hospice or the Preston County Animal Shelter.
