Obituary of Mary Alice McKinney

Mary Alice Raber McKinney, 93, of Reedsville, went to be with her loving husband, Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown. She was born in Blacksville, WV on November 17, 1923, a daughter of the late William Raber and Sarah Lydia Schultz Raber. She was a member of the Masontown United Methodist Church and a 50- year member of The Ladies’ Oriental Shrine of North America, Isis Court #1 in Wheeling, WV. She attended the WVU School of Nursing and was a certified lab technician at Mon General Hospital for many years. She was an avid tennis player, winning many awards. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by a son, Carlton McKinney Jr. and wife Barbara of Duck Key, FL; a daughter, Kimberly Mayor and husband Kevin of Reedsville; five grandchildren and their children, Meredith Blosser and husband Chuck and children, Jordan and Carter; Amanda Cale and husband Dave and children, Symantha, Keira, Kameron and Noah; Holly Rowan and son, Bailey; Sarah Stewart and husband Scott and children, Alexis, Olivia and Isabelle; Nathaniel Mayor and wife Michelle and children, Maya, Bree, Sydney, Payten and Nathaniel, Jr; two nephews, John Raber and wife Betty of Wooster, OH and Bernard Raber and wife Ruth of Blacksville, WV. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Carlton McKinney Sr and five brothers, Carl Raber, Kenneth Raber, Paul Raber, Charles Raber and Donald Raber. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home on Friday, September 8, 2017 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm and Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 10 am until the 11 am service time at the funeral home with Pastors Ernie and Bonnie Rowan officiating. Interment will follow at the Masontown Cemetery. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the team of medical practitioners of Mon General Hospital, Preston Memorial Home Care, Right at Home and many friends who provided wonderful caregiving to Mary.
