Obituary of Merna Malinda Denkenberger

Merna Malinda Denkenberger, 89, of Kingwood, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Pine Ridge Nursing Home in Kingwood.

She was born in Masontown, on April 29, 1928, a daughter of the late Harvey McMillen and Hesper (Luce) McMillen Taylor.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She loved to play piano at church services, cook, quilt, sew, can, read and watch her birdfeeder.

She is survived by her husband, Harry Denkenberger; three daughters, Wanda Cooke of OH, Malinda Wilson of OK and Betty McNary of OH; five sons, William C. Riley Jr. and wife Ann of OH, Darrell Riley and wife Diane of OH, Randy Riley and wife Tara of HI, Ronald Riley and wife Tami of OH and David Riley and wife Lisa of VA; one step daughter, Mary Ann Thompson of WV; one step son, Robert Denkenberger and wife Debbie of WV; three sisters; Betty Dudley of WV, Joyce Gill and husband Bernard of OH, and Ila Jo McMillen of VA; two brothers; Robert McMillen of OH, and Ivan McMillen and wife Fran of FL; 29 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by two sons, Damon Riley and James Riley; one sister, Hesper Breese; three brothers, Howard McMillen, Clyne McMillen, and Elvin McMillen; one step daughter, Yvonne Riley and one step son Thomas Matthews.

Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Friday May 12, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday May 13, 2017 from 1 p.m. until the 4 p.m. service time with Rev David Spence officiating. Private interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
