Obituary of Kermit R. Stuchell

Kermit Russell "Bounce" Stuchell, 87, of Reedsville, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 as result of metastatic prostate cancer at Lavender Fields Assisted Living in Beverly, WV. He was born in Kanes Creek, WV on November 16, 1928, the youngest son of the late Charles Melford and Anna (Moran) Stuchell. On February 14, 1948 he married the love of his life, Betty J. Ault who preceded him in death on July 7, 2008. They had celebrated 60 years of marriage prior to her death. Bounce was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He attended school in Reedsville and Masontown. At the age of 17 he left school shortly before graduation to enlist in the army where he was part of the 800 Military Police in Kobe, Japan. For the majority of his life Bounce worked as a coal miner and retired from the Consolidated Coal Company's Arkwright mine. In his earlier years he enjoyed farming, square dancing and gardening. He was a member of the Masontown Nazarene Church. He and his wife were very active in their church and he was presented with a Distinguished Service Award in 2010. Bounce was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by five children, Linda Sue Weber and husband David of Greenfield, IA, Danny Russell Stuchell and wife Connie Sue of Reedsville, Terry J. Casseday and husband Larry of Elkins, John Stuchell and wife Carol of Albright and Lisa Jane Conciatore and husband Joe of Bethel, CT; his very special nephew, Delbert Stuchell and wife Helen of Reedsville; grandchildren, Todd Eble, Jamiee Phillips and husband BJ, Ashlee Stuchell, Nick Stuchell and wife Melissa, Adam Casseday and wife Kadra, Julie Stutler and husband Bret, Anthony Weber, Amber Schelling and husband Dave, Cody Stuchell, Colton Stuchell and wife Korti and Patrick Conciatore and 16 great grandchildren, Demi and Peyton Eble, Grayson and Cohen Schelling, Jack, Darbee and Danielle Phillips, Lillyana Curtis, Saralena Stuchell, Vernon and Norman Casseday, Ruby and Annie Stutler and Carter, Tucker and Clara Stuchell. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by an infant brother Terry Stuchell; five brothers, Curtis, Harry, Carnie, Don and George Stuchell; an infant sister Grace Stuchell and three sisters, Etta Groves, June Groves and Janet Kisner. Bounce will always be remembered for giving out his Werther's candies to people he met and taking delight in bringing a smile to people's faces. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday, October 7, 2016 at the Masontown Nazarene Church from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time with Rev.
