Obituary of Nathan Luke Shaffer

Nathan Luke Shaffer, 24, of Masontown, WV passed away Monday, May 30, 2016. He was born in Kingwood, WV on December 3, 1991, a son of the late James F. Shaffer (whom he loved and missed) and Clarissa Jane Shaffer of Masontown. Luke was a loving son, brother and grandson. He was a 2010 graduate of Preston High School where he played football and basketball. He worked at the Peaslee's Auction House in Kingwood. Luke loved to fish, hunt and ride four wheelers. He loved following sports, especially Virginia Tech and was always glued to ESPN. He never met a stranger and brought a smile to all who knew him. In addition to his mother Luke is survived by his step father, Gary Yost; a brother, James A. Shaffer of Reedsville; two step brothers, Caleb Yost and companion Courtney of Oakland, MD, and Dillion Ellifritz and wife Tiffany of Kingwood; a step sister, Heather Connor of Mulberry, FL; grandmother, Ellen Shaffer of Reedsville, whom he dearly loved; two nephews, Lincoln Shaffer and Carter Shaffer and several aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his two grandfathers, Clarence Shaffer and Frank Shaffer; and his grandmother, Francis Shaffer. Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home on Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 3 - 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Marshall Woods officiating. Interment to follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Masontown. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Field Funeral Home in Masontown to help the family with funeral expenses.
