Obituary of Jamie Bryan Sisler

Jamie Bryan Sisler, 48, of Reedsville, passed away from this life on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at the home of his parents. He gave up his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer for eternal peace. He was born in Morgantown, WV, on March 16, 1968, the son of Timothy Dana and Sharon Marie Chidester Sisler. He was a 1986 graduate of West Preston High School. After attending classes at Fairmont State University he entered the work force with most of his employment years at West Virginia University. His last employer was S & K Sanitation. Jamie loved playing all sports as a child and was a four year starter in high school football. As an adult, his passion was following WVU football, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was thrilled to be healthy enough to follow the NFL draft coverage this spring and, most recently, glued to the TV watching the Pirate games with his Dad. He loved hunting season searching for that perfect buck in the woods or best sports game on TV. Over the years his dogs were his most loyal companions, Chubs and Soda. In addition to his parents he is survived by his sister and spouse, Jill Elizabeth (Ken) Fetty of Orrville, OH; step-grandmother, Carolyn Wolfe Hovatter Chidester; uncles Gary (Sandy) Chidester of Woodbridge, VA, Dan Sisler of Conyers, GA, Richard Hovatter of Morgantown, WV, Rodney (Brenda) Hovatter of Arthurdale, WV, and Randy Hovatter of Reedsville, WV; aunts Bonnie (Terry) Areford and Cindy (Steve) Conners of Morgantown, WV, Susan Hovatter (Keith) Larew of Thornton, WV; and several cousins. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dana and Katherine (Eberg) Sisler; maternal grandparents, Ralph and Marie Bucklew Chidester; and nephew Benjamin Isaac Fetty. In accordance with his wishes, Field Funeral Home in Masontown, WV will provide cremation services. Family and friends will be received on Friday, June 3, from 3pm until time of service at 6:30pm with Revs David Spence and Tim Heaney officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jamie's memory to Pancreatic Cancer research at NPCF, PO Box 1848, Longmont, CO 80502, or Masontown Church of the Nazarene, PO Box 345, Masontown, WV 26542.
